Tru Blood, if the a synthetic blood invented by a Japanese Company and effectively brought vampires out of the coffin. Coming in a range of flavours, to mimic real human blood, it allows a vampire to sustain itself without feeding on human. Of course it is not the same, and most vampire complain about the taste. But still it is the only alternative they have, and most vampires wishing to mainstream drink it, while trying to obstain from human blood. But it is hard, because nothing can compare to the warm fresh taste of human blood and sadly main still have not given up and continue to feed on human blood.

Vampires, are simply well…vampires. They are the undead and they feed on human blood. Sadly if you are looking for sparkling vampires, you are on the wrong site. The true blood verse vampires, are well…well they are a lot more traditional. They don’t come out in the sunlight, they do have fangs, and lets face it they are a lot more hard-core. So please, no Edward Cullens, thank you.
Humans, okay if you don’t know what one of these are, get up and go find the nearest mirror and have a your answer. Humans are mortals, there is nothing special about them, apart from what you give them. Of course their world is a little different to ours, what with all the vampires opening running about, hungering over their blood. But simply, these character are humans, just like you and me.
Members of the fellowship of the sun, are crazy nuts. Okay no not really, but they can be pretty intense. They are religious people, who simply believe they are the good and vampires are bad. Basically they see the world in black and white, and they see vampires as children of Satan and there forever refuse to co-exist with them. Maybe train to kill vampires, where as other simply protest against them. But if you are in this group, one thing is for sure, you don’t like vampires.
Since vampires have been out of the coffin, they have been met with a lot of prejudice. Which isn’t at all shocking. However the America Vampire League (or AVL) , have been fighting for vampire rights since the very point of their revel. Through television debates and other public forums, they reassure people that vampires are safe, and deserve the be treated, as any other person on the street.
Shape shifters, are rare humans who have the ability change shape. Not all that different from a werewolf, apart from you are born as one, they are forced to take the shape of an animal on a full moon. However also unlike a werewolf, they can not only pick what shape they transform into, but also can do it on any other night, apart from a full moon. Only drawback is, they have to be able to see the animal, before they transform. Bummer.
Fang-bangers, is a polite term for people who fuck vampires, as well as letting them feed on their blood. They all idolise vampires, and they see it as a great honour to be fed upon by a vampire. Many will spend their nights, near vampire bars and hotels. But some are lucky enough to travel with a vampire, and they almost become like a pet to them, obeying their every command.
Even more rare than a shape-shifter, a telepath as the ability to read any humans mind. Which can often be a bit more of a curse, than a gift. As hearing others thoughts can be very distracting, and it can be very wearing to try and block them out all the time. However they cannot, read the mind of any vampires and that can often be very calming for a telepath.

As you may know vampires have come out of hiding and have officially publicised their existence. If you didn’t, now you do! Vampires are pushing for equal rights to human beings, much like the woman who were fighting in the suffragettes.
These vampires have no heartbeat no matter how much blood they take, they have no brainwaves and they don’t actually have a need to breathe. Sunlight and silver are dangerous to vampires, yes they can sleep in coffins although they can also bury themselves underground; they can hide anywhere that the sun cannot reach, and they can often tell when the sun is about to rise so they can escape to someplace safe. Naturally, they are pale and cold – if humans and vampires share one another’s blood, they form what’s called a blood bond; the human can sense when the vampire is around, and the vampire can do the same, but they can also ‘read’ the emotions; they can tell when the human is distressed. The humans also feel some sort of safety when they have that close a bond to a vampire. Their fangs only come out when they are excited, at the sight of blood, when they see a fight, or when they are sexually aroused. They are ageless and can service from most sustained injuries, but will die if staked or exposed to sunlight. Vampires can get sick – they can get “Hep D”, something which can weaken them up to a month, leaving them vulnerable and more capable to be captured. Vampires however do not blurt this little virus out to the public, so they work to keep it a complete secret.
Vampires came out in the open on a television network after a team of Japanese scientists developed a synthetic blood substitute for real human blood, for which vampires wishing to “mainstream” ie, integrate themselves in to the public, can digest this instead. Some claim it does not work properly, and that it is not a good enough substitute, therefore making many vampires angry towards those who wish to mainstream.
Vampire blood is being hunted by human beings who wish to make money off the market from it. There are many short term effects, but quite a few long term ones. Short ones can be heightened libido, increased senses and awareness and delirium. On the long term scale, the human taker can become severely addicted and suffer from withdrawal symptoms.
There are a few special abilities that vampires possess – they can influence human minds with something called “glamoring”. They can also lay claims on humans; if they say a human is theirs then another vampire is not allowed to touch them – many vampires only apply this rule if they have considerable age on most other vampires.
It is extremely rare that vampires can fly, although there are one or two with this ability. All of them have the ability to remain still, very silent, almost in an expressionless state and keeping incredibly silent. The land in America has been divided in to kingdoms with each state representing a monarchy controlled by a single vampire, the King or Queen of the state. The state is then divided in to areas, where the ruler of the state appoint sheriffs, who then owe an allegiance to the ruler. Vampires are also compelled to obey his or her maker, making it impossible for them to run away if their maker calls.
